First edition of this elegant presentation of canon law. The editor (1692-1775) was a Piarist, who held the title of Apostolic examiner to the Roman clergy. A second edition was produced in 1829-30.

Folio, 3 vols. (23.7 cms. x 34.5 cms. in binding), pp. x, 479 [1]; [2] 481-806; [2] 809-1126, 5 [1]. Woodcut vignettes to title-pages, woodcut head- and tail-pieces and initials. Light foxing and browning, very good, clean copies, bound in contemporary vellum, spines gilt with red and green morocco labels, slightly chipped but a smart set, silk ribbons, all edges yellow. Bookplates of "Dom. Prob. Roehampton".
