Pearson, Susanna: Essays and letters; humbly and affectionately presented to the Church of Christ, by Susanna Pearson. With an additional essay on the Throne of Grace. Ipswich: printed and sold by S.H. Cowell; sold also [...] by the author, Bildestone, Suffolk. 1827.

The only known work (in its only located edition) by the Baptist author Susanna Pearson (née Flinders) of Bildeston, Suffolk (1779-1827). The work comprises 11 essays and nine letters. The author is listed, on the printed front cover, as a seller of the work. “The contents of the present little Volume were the production of my leisure, and sometimes of my solitary hours [...] when some of these Essays and Letters were written, I was deprived of enjoying a gospel ministry, which before I had been highly favoured with for six years” (Preface).

One volume, 18 cms. x 11.3 cms., duodecimo, pp. viii, [5]-224. Light browning, bound in paper-covered boards, the paper to front cover and spine printed, edges uncut (loss and peeling to spine). Inscription to inside front cover: “The gift of W Curtis Matthews to the Book Society, Burnell Vestry Chapple”.
