One of 21 humorous pamphlets produced between the years 1602 and 1605 by the press of the heirs of Perin in Vicenza, relating to the “Compagnia della Lesina”, a group of greedy eaters who were the subject of a bestselling burlesque poem, first published - also by the heirs of Perin - in 1589. The pamphlets were sold probably both individually, and as a collection called ‘Nuovi aggiontoni della Lesina’. Their interest includes culinary discussion. The present also has sartorial content, and (sig A6 verso) brief discussion of the Persian physicians Ibn Sina (Avicenna) and Razi (Rhases).
