Attractively bordered set of rules to observed by the employees of the Bodmin Gas Consumers’ company in Cornwall, with regulations relevant to stokers, lamplighters, and ‘other workmen’. There is emphasis on punctuality, e.g. ‘Stokers to be at the Works at the time appointed’ and ‘Lamplighters to commence lighting at Sunset, and to commence extinguishing at 11:30 p.m.’ Rule 5, which is the most detailed, provides parameters for gas pressure.

Broadside, 49.6 cms. x 31.4 cms. Includes a table ('Pressure of Gas on the Town to be regulated by the Governors, according to the following table, in tenths of an inch'). Woodcut border with Celtic-type ornament at corners. Browning to paper, darkening extreme edges, three neat fold lines, small tears and losses to blank outer margins and at fold lines.
